Welcome to the SJHHS English Department!
At SJHHS, the English curriculum in our classes focuses on vocabulary development, reading comprehension, literary response and analysis, writing, listening, speaking, and critical thinking. All instruction is aligned with the California English-Language Arts Content Standards and is designed to prepare students for the California Standards Tests and for the California High School Exit Exam. We seek to prepare students for success both in high school and in life beyond high school.
